These Spooky Witch Finger Halloween Pretzel Bites are salty, sweet, and look disturbingly like something you’d find in a witch’s kitchen. Ready in just 15 minutes, they’re the perfect creepy snack for Halloween parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag (about 12 ounces) pretzel rods
  • 1 cup (about 6 ounces) green candy melts
  • About 24 almond slivers
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional)
  • Red food coloring (just a drop)
  • Edible eyes (optional, about 12)

Instructions

  1. Prep your workspace. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Melt the candy melts. Place the green candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted (about 90 seconds total). Stir in the coconut oil if using.
  3. Dip the pretzel rods. Hold a pretzel rod by one end and dip it into the melted candy coating. Rotate to coat evenly, leaving about an inch at the top undipped (this will be the ‘wrist’ area). Let excess drip off.
  4. Place on the baking sheet. Lay the coated pretzel on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining pretzels, leaving space between each.
  5. Add the fingernails. While the coating is still wet, press an almond sliver onto the tip of each pretzel with the pointed end facing outward.
  6. Create the knuckle details. Use a toothpick or small knife to draw lines on the coating, creating knuckle wrinkles.
  7. Add the ‘blood’ details (optional). Dip a toothpick into red food coloring and dab a tiny amount at the base of the almond sliver.
  8. Let them set. Allow the coated pretzels to set completely at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
  9. Add extra decorations (optional). If using edible eyes, attach them with a tiny dab of melted candy coating once the main coating has set.
  10. Serve or store. Once fully set, the fingers are ready to eat. Arrange on a platter.

Notes

Don’t rush the dipping process. Work in small batches of 4-5 pretzels at a time. Use tweezers for precise placement of almond slivers. Let the coating set completely at room temperature (not in the refrigerator) to avoid condensation. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Can be frozen for up to a month.
