Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml / 25.4 fl oz) dry, crisp white wine (Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, or Albariño)
  • 23 ripe peaches, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml / 2 fl oz) peach schnapps
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml / 2 fl oz) orange liqueur (Triple Sec or Cointreau)
  • 1 cup (240 ml / 8 fl oz) club soda or sparkling water
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml / 1 fl oz) fresh lemon juice
  • A small handful fresh mint leaves, gently bruised
  • 12 tablespoons sugar or honey (optional)
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  1. Wash and thinly slice 2-3 ripe peaches about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. In a large pitcher, pour 1 bottle (750 ml) of crisp white wine.
  3. Add 1/4 cup peach schnapps and 1/4 cup orange liqueur to the pitcher and stir gently.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice and 1-2 tablespoons sugar or honey if desired; stir until dissolved.
  5. Add the peach slices and bruised fresh mint leaves to the pitcher.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, ideally 4 hours or overnight to let flavors meld.
  7. Just before serving, add 1 cup club soda or sparkling water and stir lightly.
  8. Add ice cubes to chill without diluting the sangria.
  9. Pour into glasses ensuring each has some fruit slices and mint; garnish with lemon wheel or extra peach slice if desired.

Notes

Use dry, crisp white wine like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio for best flavor. Thinly slice peaches to avoid mushiness. Chill sangria for at least 2 hours to let flavors meld. Add sparkling water just before serving to keep fizz. Adjust sweetness to taste. Freeze peach slices in ice cubes to chill without dilution.
