A simple yet thoughtful charcuterie board for two, perfect for date nights or impromptu gatherings. It balances creamy cheeses, savory meats, crunchy nuts, sweet fruits, and tangy pickles for a delightful experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz Brie cheese
  • 4 oz Aged Gouda
  • 2 oz Blue cheese
  • 4 slices Prosciutto
  • 4 slices Salami
  • 1 cup Crackers
  • 1/2 cup Toasted almonds
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1/4 cup Dried apricots
  • 1/4 cup Fresh figs or grapes
  • 1/4 cup Cornichons
  • 2 tablespoons Whole grain mustard
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish (optional)
  • Small bowl of olives (optional)
  • Dark chocolate shavings (optional)

Instructions

  1. Take your cheeses out of the fridge 30 minutes before serving to bring them to room temperature.
  2. Choose your board and arrange small bowls for honey, mustard, and any olives or nuts at the corners.
  3. Place the cheeses on the board at different points: brie on one side, aged Gouda on the other, blue cheese in between. Cut a few slices of each cheese in advance.
  4. Add the meats: fold prosciutto into loose ribbons and fan out salami slices near the cheeses they pair best with.
  5. Fill in with crunchy elements: arrange crackers in small clusters and scatter toasted almonds in empty spaces.
  6. Add sweet and tangy elements: place dried apricots and fresh fruit in small piles, tuck cornichons into nooks, drizzle honey over brie or put in a bowl, spoon mustard into its bowl.
  7. Garnish and fill any gaps with fresh rosemary sprigs, extra crackers, or almonds to make the board look full and generous.
  8. Add finishing touches: sprinkle black peppercorns or flaky sea salt over cheeses, add dark chocolate shavings if desired.

Notes

Let cheeses come to room temperature for best flavor. Keep crackers away from soft cheese to prevent sogginess. Assemble just before serving for optimal freshness. Feel free to substitute ingredients based on availability.
