An easy, romantic charcuterie board recipe for two that combines a mix of textures and flavors, perfect for intimate evenings or date nights.

Ingredients

  • Creamy brie cheese (e.g., Président Brie)
  • Sharp aged cheddar cheese (e.g., Cabot Cheddar)
  • Tangy goat cheese
  • Thin slices of prosciutto
  • Thin slices of salami
  • Thin slices of soppressata
  • Fresh grapes
  • Apple slices
  • Fresh figs (seasonal)
  • Dried apricots
  • Dried dates
  • Spiced nuts (candied pecans or smoked almonds)
  • Crunchy French baguette, sliced thin
  • Water crackers
  • Olives (Kalamata or Castelvetrano)
  • Cornichons
  • Fig or apricot jam
  • Honey for drizzling
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary or thyme) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the board by selecting a large wooden or slate serving board and placing small bowls for olives, nuts, and jams spaced evenly around it.
  2. Slice the cheeses: cut brie into wedges, slice cheddar into thin rectangles, and crumble or scoop the goat cheese. Arrange each cheese with enough space for easy serving. (About 10 minutes)
  3. Arrange the meats by folding or rolling prosciutto and salami slices into loose bundles and nestle them near the cheeses.
  4. Add fresh and dried fruits: scatter grapes or apple slices in clusters, and place dried apricots or dates in small mounds. Remove any seeds or pits beforehand. (5 minutes)
  5. Place crackers and bread by fanning out baguette slices and crackers in small stacks or along the edge of the board. Toast the bread lightly beforehand for added crunch and aroma.
  6. Fill bowls and garnish by spooning olives, cornichons, nuts, and jam into their bowls. Drizzle honey over the goat cheese or brie, and tuck fresh herb sprigs throughout the board for color and scent. (5 minutes)
  7. Add final touches by filling any empty spots with extra nuts or small fruit pieces to create a balanced, visually appealing presentation.

Notes

Let cheeses sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before serving for best flavor and easier slicing. Toss sliced fruits like apples in lemon juice to prevent browning. Toast nuts briefly in a dry pan to enhance flavor but watch carefully to avoid burning. Avoid overcrowding the board to keep it tidy and easy to serve.
