These no-bake energy balls combine peanut butter, oats, and mini chocolate chips for a quick, healthy, and delicious snack that’s perfect anytime.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (90g) rolled oats
  • ½ cup (125g) natural creamy peanut butter
  • ⅓ cup (60g) mini chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons (40g) honey
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • A pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients: rolled oats, peanut butter, mini chocolate chips, honey, chia seeds (optional), vanilla extract, and sea salt.
  2. In a mixing bowl, stir together the peanut butter, honey, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy, about 1-2 minutes. Warm peanut butter slightly if cold.
  3. Add rolled oats, chia seeds, chocolate chips, and sea salt. Stir gently but thoroughly to coat oats and distribute chocolate chips evenly.
  4. Check the consistency: mixture should be sticky enough to hold together but not too wet. Add more oats if too loose or more honey/peanut butter if too dry.
  5. Roll the mixture into small balls about 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter, yielding roughly 15-18 balls. Keep hands slightly damp if mixture sticks.
  6. Place the balls on a parchment-lined tray or plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  7. Serve immediately after chilling or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Notes

Use natural creamy peanut butter without excess oil for best binding. Chilling is essential to firm up the balls. Mini chocolate chips prevent premature melting. For vegan version, substitute honey with maple syrup or agave. If mixture is too dry, add a splash of milk sparingly.
