A budget-friendly charcuterie board featuring simple, easy-to-find ingredients that create a delicious and visually appealing spread perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 oz sharp cheddar cheese, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 4 oz cream cheese spread, plain or herb-flavored
  • 8 oz thinly sliced turkey or ham deli meat
  • 4 oz salami slices
  • 1 cup assorted crackers, mix of plain and flavored
  • 1 small loaf rustic baguette or artisan bread, sliced
  • 1/2 cup mixed green and black olives
  • 1 cup baby carrots or sliced cucumbers
  • 1/4 cup pickles or cornichons (optional)
  • 1 cup seedless red grapes or apple slices
  • 1/4 cup roasted almonds or walnuts
  • Honey mustard dip: 2 tbsp mustard, 1 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Prepare the honey mustard dip by whisking together 2 tablespoons yellow mustard, 1 tablespoon honey, and 1 tablespoon mayonnaise until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Cut the sharp cheddar into bite-sized cubes or thin slices. Spread the cream cheese on a small plate or leave in its container for easy scooping.
  3. Fan out the turkey or ham slices on one side of your board. Fold the salami slices into quarters and pile them next to the turkey for visual contrast.
  4. Cut the baguette into 1/2-inch slices. Toast lightly or leave fresh based on preference.
  5. Place a handful of assorted crackers in clusters around the board. Scatter the roasted almonds or walnuts in small piles to fill gaps.
  6. Arrange olives in small bowls or piles, add baby carrots or cucumber slices, and tuck in grapes or apple slices. Add any pickles or cornichons in their own spot.
  7. Position the cream cheese for easy access and place the honey mustard dip in a ramekin. Use a small knife or spreader for convenience.
  8. Fill any empty spaces with leftover nuts, crackers, or fruit to balance the look. Serve immediately or cover tightly and refrigerate for up to 4 hours.

Notes

Let cheeses come to room temperature before serving for best flavor. Lightly toast bread if stale by brushing with olive oil and warming in the oven for 5 minutes. Use small bowls for wet items like olives and dips to keep the board neat. Avoid overcrowding the board to prevent items from falling over.
