A quick and easy air fryer shrimp recipe featuring a crispy coating with bold Old Bay seasoning, perfect for a flavorful snack or meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined, tails on or off
  • 2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • Cooking spray or olive oil mist

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat dry the shrimp thoroughly with paper towels.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In a second bowl, beat the eggs until smooth.
  4. Dip each shrimp into the egg wash, letting excess drip off, then dredge through the seasoned flour mixture until fully coated. Place on a baking sheet or plate.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Place shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding. Lightly mist with cooking spray or olive oil.
  7. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 4-5 minutes, then flip and spray again. Cook for another 4-5 minutes until golden brown and shrimp are opaque and firm.
  8. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Notes

Pat shrimp dry before breading to ensure crispiness. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to avoid soggy shrimp. Flip shrimp halfway through cooking for even crisping. For gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour with almond or gluten-free flour. Reheat leftovers in air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to restore crispiness.
