These adorable mummy pigs in a blanket are wrapped in pizza dough and baked until golden, then served with a tangy, spicy mustard dip. Perfect for Halloween parties, game day spreads, or any gathering where you want a crowd-pleasing appetizer that disappears fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough
  • 24 cocktail sausages or mini hot dogs
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 24 candy eyes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1/2 cup yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Make the spicy mustard dip first. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the yellow mustard, honey, sriracha, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne if using. Whisk until well combined and just starting to bubble, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Lightly flour a clean counter or large cutting board. Unroll the pizza dough and gently stretch it into a rectangle about 12 by 8 inches.
  4. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough lengthwise into 24 thin strips, each about 1/2 inch wide and 8 inches long.
  5. Take one cocktail sausage and place it at one end of a dough strip. Wrap the dough around the sausage at a slight angle, leaving a small gap near the top for the face. Press the end of the dough strip gently to seal. Repeat with all 24 sausages.
  6. Place the wrapped mummies on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  7. Brush each mummy lightly with the beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and the sausages are heated through.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes. While still warm, press a candy eye onto each mummy.
  10. Serve with the spicy mustard dip on the side.

Notes

You can wrap the mummies up to 4 hours ahead and keep them covered in the refrigerator. Brush with egg wash right before baking. The spicy mustard dip can be made up to a week in advance and stored in an airtight container in the fridge. For best results, use room temperature ingredients and don’t overwork the dough.
