A fast and comforting snack that transforms dense Taurus cake with rich garlic butter in just 15 minutes. Perfect for a cozy bite or quick appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium-sized piece Taurus cake (about 150g / 5.3 oz)
  • 3 tablespoons (42g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large garlic cloves, finely minced or pressed
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Finely mince 3 large garlic cloves and chop 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley if using. Cut the Taurus cake into thick slices, about 1 inch thick.
  2. In a small bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of softened unsalted butter with the minced garlic, 1/4 teaspoon salt, a pinch of black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired. Mix until well combined.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet on medium-low heat and add the garlic butter mixture. Stir gently to melt the butter slowly and infuse it with the garlic aroma, about 2 minutes. Avoid browning the garlic.
  4. Place the Taurus cake slices in the skillet, spooning some garlic butter over each piece. Cook for 2 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook another 2 minutes until crispy outside and soft inside.
  5. Remove the toasted Taurus cake from the skillet, spoon any remaining garlic butter over the top, and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Keep the heat moderate to avoid burning the garlic. Use fresh garlic for best flavor. Thick slices of Taurus cake hold up better to the butter sauce. The garlic butter can be made ahead and stored refrigerated for a few days.
