A quick and easy savory snack featuring buttery, garlicky cookies ready in just 15 minutes. Perfect for satisfying late-night cravings or casual get-togethers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat 1/2 cup softened unsalted butter with 2 tablespoons granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Sift together 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. Gradually add to the creamed butter mixture and mix until just combined.
  4. Stir in 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley and 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese if using.
  5. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, then gently flatten into rounds about 1/4-inch thick. Place on the baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges turn light golden and cookies feel firm but tender when pressed lightly.
  7. Let cookies rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for best texture. Avoid overmixing the dough to keep cookies tender. For stronger garlic flavor, sprinkle a pinch of garlic powder on top before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in oven at 325°F for 5 minutes to restore crispness. Avoid microwaving to prevent chewy texture.
