A quick and easy grilled pineapple recipe featuring a luscious cinnamon honey butter that enhances the fruit’s natural sweetness with a smoky, buttery finish. Perfect as a simple dessert or a crowd-pleasing snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium fresh pineapple, peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch rings or wedges
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons honey (raw or wildflower preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: pinch of ground nutmeg or dash of vanilla extract
  • Optional substitutions: coconut oil instead of butter for dairy-free, maple syrup instead of honey

Instructions

  1. Peel and core the pineapple, then slice into about 1/2-inch thick rings or wedges.
  2. In a small bowl, mix softened unsalted butter, honey, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  3. Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.
  4. Place pineapple slices on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, turning once carefully with tongs, until grill marks and golden caramelization appear.
  5. Remove pineapple from grill while still warm and spread a generous layer of cinnamon honey butter on each slice.
  6. Serve immediately, optionally garnished with fresh mint leaves or toasted coconut.

Notes

If the butter mixture is too stiff, warm it in the microwave for 10 seconds before spreading. Watch pineapple closely while grilling to prevent burning due to sugar caramelization. Serve warm for best texture and flavor. For dairy-free, use coconut oil and maple syrup. Optional spices like nutmeg, vanilla, cayenne, or smoked paprika can be added for variation.
