Quick and easy garlic butter bites made with simple pantry staples, perfect for snacks, picnics, or casual get-togethers. These buttery, garlicky bites have a crispy exterior and soft center, ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 slices sturdy bread (sourdough or rustic country loaf preferred, day-old bread works great)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced fresh
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut each slice of bread into bite-sized squares, roughly 1 to 1.5 inches.
  2. In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until smooth and fragrant. Let sit for a few minutes to let flavors marry.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic butter mixture and allow it to melt and bubble gently, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Add bread squares to the skillet in a single layer, turning to coat each piece in garlic butter. Toast for about 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crisp, flipping carefully with tongs or a spatula.
  5. Optional: Sprinkle grated Parmesan over the bites during the last minute of cooking to melt slightly.
  6. Transfer bites to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess butter. Serve warm for best crispy, buttery crunch.

Notes

Use day-old bread for better crispness. Do not overcrowd the pan to avoid steaming the bread. Use softened butter, not melted, to mix easily and avoid separation. Let garlic infuse butter slowly over medium heat to prevent burning. Drain bites on paper towels to keep them from feeling greasy. Reheat in skillet or toaster oven to revive crispness; avoid microwaving as it makes bites soggy.
