A quick and elegant recipe combining sweet strawberries with rich garlic butter, perfect for a special Mother’s Day breakfast or any occasion needing a comforting, unique treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
  • Fresh basil or mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rinse and hull about 2 cups of fresh strawberries, then cut them in halves. Set aside.
  2. Place 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a skillet over medium heat. Let it melt gently until it starts to foam, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to brown or burn the garlic.
  4. Add the halved strawberries to the pan. Stir gently to coat them in the garlic butter. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the berries soften but still hold their shape.
  5. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of honey over the strawberries, then add a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper. Stir gently and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the mixture is glossy and slightly syrupy.
  6. Remove from heat and squeeze in 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice to brighten the dish.
  7. Transfer the strawberries to a serving dish and garnish with fresh basil or mint leaves if desired.

Notes

If garlic starts to brown too quickly, lower the heat immediately to avoid bitterness. Use fresh strawberries for best texture; frozen berries tend to get mushy. For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with coconut oil and honey with maple syrup. Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure proper caramelization.
