A quick and easy summer dessert featuring juicy grilled peaches caramelized with butter and cinnamon, served warm with creamy vanilla ice cream for a perfect sweet and smoky flavor combination.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium fresh ripe peaches, halved and pitted
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • About 2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 12 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium heat, around 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wash, halve, and carefully pit 4 medium peaches.
  3. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and optional 1 teaspoon lemon juice or 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup. Stir well.
  4. Brush the cut sides of each peach half generously with the butter-cinnamon glaze.
  5. Place peaches cut side down on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until grill marks appear and peaches start to soften.
  6. Using tongs or a spatula, turn the peaches skin side down. Grill for another 3-4 minutes until tender but not mushy, and the skin chars slightly.
  7. Transfer peaches to a serving dish and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  8. Top each warm peach half with a generous scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream. Drizzle extra honey or maple syrup if desired.

Notes

Use ripe but firm peaches to avoid them falling apart. Brush peaches with butter-cinnamon glaze just before grilling. Watch grill closely to avoid burning. For dairy-free, substitute vanilla ice cream with coconut or almond milk-based alternatives. Optional additions include nutmeg, bourbon in glaze, or a sprinkle of chili powder for heat. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheated gently.
