Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz brie cheese (creamy, mild)
  • 6 oz goat cheese (tangy, spreadable)
  • 6 oz sharp cheddar (aged, crumbly)
  • 4 oz manchego or Gruyère (nutty, slightly firm)
  • 3 oz blue cheese (optional, bold flavor)
  • 4 oz prosciutto (thinly sliced)
  • 6 oz salami (mild or spicy)
  • 4 oz capicola or soppressata
  • 2 cups assorted crackers (about 4 oz, e.g., Raincoast Crisps or water crackers)
  • 1 small French baguette, thinly sliced (about 8 oz)
  • 1 cup gluten-free crackers (about 2 oz, if needed)
  • 1 cup strawberries (halved or sliced)
  • 1 cup seedless grapes (red or green)
  • 1/2 cup blackberries or raspberries
  • 1 cup melon (cantaloupe or honeydew, cubed)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp fig jam or apricot preserves
  • 1/2 cup roasted nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
  • 1/2 cup olives (mixed or stuffed)
  • 2 oz dark chocolate squares
  • Fresh herbs (a few sprigs thyme or rosemary for garnish)
  • 1 bottle (750 mL) champagne, chilled (Brut or Rosé)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry all fruits. Slice strawberries, cube melon, and halve grapes if desired. Slice baguette into thin rounds. Arrange meats into bite-size portions or gentle folds.
  2. Position cheeses first on the board, spreading them out in different corners to anchor the layout. Fan out slices of cheddar and Gruyère, and place whole brie and goat cheese logs.
  3. Fold prosciutto into loose ruffles, stack salami in piles, and arrange capicola in a spiral. Place meats near cheeses they pair well with.
  4. Fill gaps with crackers and baguette slices. Place gluten-free options in a separate area if needed. Stack or fan for height and texture.
  5. Scatter strawberries, grapes, berries, and melon cubes around the board, mixing colors for a vibrant look.
  6. Place small bowls with honey, jam, olives, and nuts on empty spots. Drizzle honey over goat cheese and add fresh herbs for garnish. Add chocolate squares.
  7. Keep champagne chilled until serving. Pour into flutes right before guests arrive.
  8. Check for empty spaces and fill with extra fruit or nuts. Wipe board edges for a clean finish. Snap a photo before serving!

Notes

Let cheeses sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving for best flavor. Mix creamy, firm, and crumbly cheeses for variety. Prep meats and cheeses ahead, and add fruit just before serving. For a vegetarian or vegan board, skip meats and use plant-based cheeses and dips. Label ingredients for guests with allergies. Board is highly customizable—swap fruits, cheeses, or meats as desired.
